Over 9 lakh students appeared in this eligibility test conducted by Uttar Pradesh government for the recruitment of primary teachers in the state. The answer keys for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) will be published on February 8. The candidates can check the answer key from the official website, the link for which is upbasiceduboard.gov.in.
The exam was conducted on February 2 at 1,128 centres. The candidate can submit their objections regarding any mistake in answers till February 11. The final answer keys will be released on February 25.
Eligibility as per the notification for appearing in UPTET is graduation with minimum 50 per cent. Eligibility requirement for primary teachers is a two-year diploma in special education (D.Ed) is the eligibility for primary teachers. For upper primary class, an eligibility criterion is graduation along with one-year degree in elementary education (B.EI.Ed).
Candidates possessing professional degrees such as B.E, B.Tech, BCA and BBA cannot apply for this examination.
The annual UP TET qualifies candidates to teach primary (Classes 1 to 5) and upper primary (Classes 6 to 8) in any government school and in participating in privately operated schools in Uttar Pradesh. Aspirants can attempt paper 1 to teach primary classes, paper 2 to teach upper primary classes or for both to be able to teach primary and upper primary. The UP TET certification is valid for a period of five years, although interested candidates can reappear anytime.
