The exams were conducted through CBT mode which turned out to be the world’s biggest online examination as the board received close to 93 lakh applications. However, amid several irregularities and difficulties ranging from exam delays and wrongdoings involved, only around 55 lakh candidates finally appeared for the exams.
The successful candidates will be recommended for the posts of Commercial Apprentice (CA), Traffic Apprentice (TA), Enquiry-cum-Reservation Clerk (ECRC), Goods Guard, Senior Clerk-cum-Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist (JAA), Assistant Station Master (ASM), Traffic Assistant and Senior Time Keeper.
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) was established in 1988. It is responsible for the appointment of new employees to work for various posts at Indian Railways. It calls eligible candidates for recruitment of various Technical, Non-Technical and Para Medical Posts in Group A, B, C and D Cadres through Online Application / Offline Application Format.
